Heather K. Blair, MPH, RDH, Assistant Professor
Heather has an associate degree in Dental Hygiene (2009) and a bachelor’s degree in dental Hygiene (2011) from Vermont Technical College. She continued her education earning her master’s degree in public health (2015) from Concordia University. She has worked in a variety of settings within the field of oral health first as a practice manager, then dental hygienist, a Tooth Tutor with Head Start and in three elementary and middle schools. She currently serves as an associate professor and the VTC Dental Hygiene Department Co-Chair. Heather was instrumental in developing an interprofessional collaboration with the UVM Medical Center’s Children’s Hospital which has developed into a weekly dental hygiene rotation and developing a mobile dental hygiene program at a local elementary/middle school.
She is a past member of the executive board for the Vermont Dental Hygienists’ Association, a Speaker/Course Director/Planning Committee Member with the Office of Primary Care AHEC Program at the University Of Vermont College Of Medicine, the Regional Dental Hygiene Liaison for Region 1 and Vermont DHL with the National Center on Health, Behavior Health and Safety/Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors/American Dental Hygienist Association, the past ADHA District 1 Constituent Advisory Committee Liaison, and a member of the 802 Smiles Advisory Group. Oh and by the way….Heather was the first dental hygienist to receive her Medicaid provider ID number in Vermont 😊
