Nicole Fortune selected as VDHA 2017/2018 Hygienist of the year!
Nicole Fortune graduated in 2000 from the UVM dental hygiene program and has been working for Dr. Huber in his periodontal practice since 2004. Nicole has also been a member of the VDHA since her graduation in 2000. She is committed to providing the highest standard of care and always puts the welfare of her patients first. Never satisfied with “good enough”, she is continually striving to keep abreast of the latest techniques and innovations to keep her level of care at the very highest level.
Nicole is trained in the use of the PerioLase laser as an adjunct to initial therapy, and more recently has become proficient in the use of the Perioscope. These skills have allowed her to provide patients with state-of-the-art, innovative care utilizing the most current technology available.
Additionally, Nicole has organized and facilitated a hygiene study club that has met monthly over the past 4 years. Nicole has been active in providing continuing education to the larger dental community as well, planning and presenting numerous lunch-and-learn programs for dentists and their staff members. She also continues to seek opportunities to further her own education and knowledge. In addition to her dental hygiene degree, she also earned her MBA at Champlain College. She is currently training to become a certified PerioLase instructor and most recently, Nicole has become a member of the American Academy of Oral and Systemic Health.
