Course Description:
Become a coding wizard! The American Dental Association’s (ADA) Codes on Dental Procedures and Nomenclature, better known as the CDT (Current Dental Terminology) Codes, was designed to establish standardized codes and descriptions to report dental procedures. These codes are a HIPAA national standard for electronic claims transactions. However, information as to the specific application of many of these codes is limited. Learn strategies and guidance for proper application and documenting of the current 2022 ADA CDT preventive dental codes and how to apply them when making a dental hygiene treatment plan for your patients.
Course Objectives:
For the participants to gain comprehensive knowledge regarding the use of the ADA CDT 2022 preventive codes at the dental hygiene visit.
For the participants to understand dental benefit plan designs and their value
For the participants to be able to accurately document and submit the correct ADA CDT codes to dental benefit carriers to reduce errors, prevent costly mistakes and improve legitimate reimbursement

LeaAnne Haney, RDH LeaAnne graduated from NH Technical Institute in 1980. She practiced clinical dental hygiene for over 38 years. She was appointed to the NH Board of Dental Examiners by Governor Steve Merrill in 1993. She served a 5 year term and was then appointed as the NH Board of Dental Examiners Investigator until April 2017 completing over 200 investigations. She has been a member of the Commission on Dental Competency Assessments for 28 years assisting in dental and dental hygiene clinical licensure exams. LeaAnne has worked for Northeast Delta Dental for the last five years as an Oral Health and Wellness Solutions Specialist and most recently received her certification in public health dental hygiene and Community Dental Health Coordinator.

Christa Keddie, RDH graduated from Mount Ida College in Newton, MA with her dental hygiene degree in 2009, then went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene with a concentration in education in May 2015. In 2018, Christa received her certification in public health dental hygiene in New Hampshire. Christa joined Northeast Delta Dental in 2016 as an Oral Health and Wellness Solutions Specialist, and she still practices clinical dental hygiene in a public health setting today. She loves talking with dental offices about preventive services and the value of a risk assessment. Christa looks forward to meeting all of you and hearing your stories, personally and professionally.
