Why: 2025 is a renewal year, are you aware that Vermont’s OPR have changed your license renewal requirements? Starting this October 15, 2025, hygienists are required to complete a continuing education course Emergency Office Procedures every renewal period.
*Note that after 10/15/25, Emergency Office Procedures is defined as a Board-approved training course of at least 2 hours, consistent with current curricula in CODA-accredited schools, in identification and management of conditions that may result in medical emergencies in the course of dental care. CPR will be its own separate course.
Dental visits can be a source of significant anxiety for some patients which may increase the risk of medical emergencies during treatment. Are you confident in your ability to recognize and respond effectively if an emergency arises?
Join us for this engaging 2-hour continuing education course designed specifically for dental professionals. You’ll gain the knowledge and confidence needed to identify medical emergencies quickly and respond with appropriate, potentially life-saving care.
From common incidents like syncope to critical situations such as anaphylactic shock, this course will cover a wide range of emergencies that may occur in the dental setting. You’ll also learn how to prevent emergencies through proper patient assessment and pre-treatment planning.
