President – Heather K Blair, RDH, BSDH, MPH

heather-blairHeather graduated from the Vermont Technical College’s Department of Dental Hygiene with her Associate in Science in 2009. She was awarded the Dorothy Wooton Outstanding Clinician Award and the Dental Hygiene Peer Recognition Award.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from VTC Department of Dental Hygiene in 2011. Heather was inducted into the Sigma Phi Alpha dental hygiene honor society in 2011.

In the fall of 2015, she earned her  Master of Public Health degree from Concordia University.

Heather currently works in clinical practice, is a part-time educator at Vermont Technical College in the Department of Dental Hygiene, works with Champlain Valley Head Start and is a Tooth Tutor in elementary/middle schools.

Heather has been an active member of ADHA/VDHA since she graduated.  She has held various positions within the organization.

In her free time. Heather enjoys reading, cooking and volunteering in her children’s schools


Immediate Past President – Marijke Kopecky, RDH, BS

marijke-kopeckyMarijke graduated from Vermont Technical College of Dental Hygiene with her Associates in Dental Hygiene in 2011.  In 2013, Marijke completed her Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene.  Marijke has worked for the Community Health Centers of Burlington for the past 3 years as a full time dental hygienist.  Marijke enjoys working with a diverse patient population and learning about the different cultures she encounters on a daily basis.  Marijke is actively involved in community outreach programs.  She enjoys spending her free time cycling, skiing, hiking, and reading and spending time with her family and friends.


President Elect – Brittney Gendreau, RDH

brittney-genreauBrittney graduated in 2010 from Vermont Technical College with her associates in dental hygiene. In 2012 she completed her BS in dental hygiene. For the past four years Brittney has been working at the Community Health Centers of Burlington. She splits her time between the Community Health Centers main office and at their pediatric office. She enjoys working with people from all walks of life especially the kids. In the summer of 2014 Brittney volunteered in Nepal for two months teaching English. When she is not working Brittney enjoys reading and spending time with her friends and family.


Vice President – Carly Tedesco, RDH, BS

carly-tedescoCarly graduated from the VTC Dental Hygiene program in 2007 with an AS degree and 2012 with a BS degree. She is currently working as a Tooth Tutor for Champlain Valley Head Start. Carly is also studying at Stony Brook University seeking a Masters Degree in Nutrition.

She lives in Bristol with her husband Mike and three children Ava (5), Luke (3), and Nolan (2) and two labs, Sage and Beans.


Secretary – Erica Gates, RDH

erica-gatesIn 2008, Erica obtained her Bachelor’s degree from University of Vermont with a double major in Neurobiology & Psychology.  She continued her education at Vermont Technical College graduating with an Associate in Science degree in Dental Hygiene in 2011.  This will be her fourth term serving as VDHA Secretary.

Erica is currently working in a private practice located in St. Albans.  Erica lives in Cambridge with her husband and son their dairy and beef farm.

In her free time she enjoys the outdoors, cooking, baking & gardening.


Treasurer – Carmen I. Negron-Dupee, BS, RDH

carmen-I-negron-dupeeCarmen has a Bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences (1994) and an Associate’s Degree in Dental Hygiene (1998), both from the University of Puerto Rico.  She worked at a Periodontal practice for 5 years before moving to the Boston, MA area in 2002, where she worked at  Boston University School of Dental Medicine and in two general private practices.  In 2007, she moved to Vermont and continued practicing clinical dental hygiene. Currently, she works at the Community Health Center of Burlington.  Carmen has a great passion for dental hygiene, she really enjoys educating and helping patients change their attitudes towards oral health and in that way improving their smiles and quality of life.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and pets. She loves to read, learn, travel, garden, and quilt.
